Mohamed Salah is continuing his impressive form from club to country, leading the Africa World Cup qualifiers’ goal-scoring chart with six goals for Egypt. The Liverpool forward has been pivotal in his team’s success, netting a significant portion of the Pharaohs’ 13 goals in the 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign.
With Egypt sitting at the top of Group A with 13 points from four wins and one draw, Salah has been an unstoppable force on the pitch, outscoring all other players in the qualifiers after match-day five. His remarkable contributions started with a brilliant four-goal performance in Egypt's dominant 6-0 win over Djibouti in the opening round. Salah then scored crucial equalizers against Guinea-Bissau before finding the net again in a 2-0 victory over Ethiopia on Friday, bringing his tally to six goals in just five matches.
Salah is closely followed by his teammate Mahmoud Trézéguet, as well as Gabon’s Denis Bouanga, Ghana’s Andre Ayew, and Mali’s Kamory Doumbia, who are all tied with five goals each. Other notable scorers in the qualifiers include Musa Barrow of Gambia and Rayan Raveloson of Madagascar, both with four goals.
Benin’s Steve Mounie, Burkina Faso’s Bertrand Traoré, and Lassina Traoré also feature in the list, each with three goals. Meanwhile, Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen has two goals after scoring a brace against Rwanda in his first appearance of the series.
